The PDFA Discflect World Championships is the biggest tournament of the year, following a tradition dating back over 20 years. For the next three years, this tournament will take place on the first Saturday of August. Registration for the 2023 World Championships will begin this May, and will once again feature both Pro and Amateur Divisions.

About
Following a tradition dating back over 30 years, there has been a World Championship major tournament in the sport of discflect each year. In the early years, this tournament was invitational only, but has been open invite since 1999.
Albeit under a different name, PDFA has brought this tournament to life since 2007. In 2021, the sport was rebranded as discflect with PDFA (Professional Discflect Association) as the governing body for the sport.
PDFA hosted the 23rd annual Discflect World Championships on AUGUST 5th, 2023 at Flash Fields in Elma, NY.
What's new in 2022
PDFA is proud to partner with Gatekeeper Media. They produce high quality professional disc golf videos, and will provide video coverage for the 2022 PDFA Discflect World Championship which will be showcased later this year.
This Major tournament will feature:
- A brand new sports facility located 15 minutes from downtown Buffalo, NY: Kevin T. Keane Sports Park
- Two divisions: Pro and Amateur
- Cash payouts for top Pro teams
- Trophies for both divisions
- Friday night meet-up and practice session at Delaware Park
- Post-Tournament get together in downtown Buffalo
For the first time since 2019, Discflect World Champions will be crowned.

All players and staff need to complete a quick online waiver after registering. Teams will be fully registered for the tournament once both players have completed a waiver. *Note, if you completed a waiver at any other 2023 Tournament Series event, there is no need to complete another one for Worlds!

For those that would like to have a business sponsor their team, there are two options here:
- Sponsor team only – $125
- Sponsor team + 2 event shirts for players – $175
For both options, we will add the business logo to this page along with Team info under Sponsored Teams. This is a win-win for everyone, and we appreciate your support in helping grow the sport of discflect.
2023 event shirts
Shirts can also be purchased separately online, and will be available for pickup at the Friday night meetup or at the tournament. Cutoff for all shirt orders is July 14th.
*UPDATE* – There are a few shirts left in certain sizes for pre-order (choose a size to see what is in stock). Checkout online to pre-order a shirt. Shirts will only be available for pickup at the Friday night meetup on August 4th or at the tournament on August 5th.

Divisions for 2023 World Championships
PROFESSIONAL (PRO)
This division is for consistent and competitive teams. These teams average 3.50 to 6.00 points per round (PPR). This is the equivalent of 7-12 total throws or 4-6 rounds to get to 21 points.
AMATEUR (AM)
This division is for intermediate teams, but beginners and those new to the sport are welcome to join. These teams average 0 to 3.49 points per round (PPR). This is the equivalent of 13+ total throws or 7+ rounds to get to 21 points.

Trophies and Raffle
2023 Trophies
The top three teams in each division will be awarded with custom, handcrafted 2023 PDFA Discflect World Championships trophies! These are some of the best trophies to date, and PDFA looks forward to seeing who will claim them this year.
Igloo Cooler raffle
A custom branded, one-of-kind 2023 PDFA Discflect World Championships Igloo cooler will be given away after the Pro Finals! Tickets will sold at the tournament for $5 (must be present to win). This comes complete with drinks, and features a bottle opener, cup holders, lockable lid, and wire basket.
Hotel
PDFA has secured a room block for those traveling in. Rooms are limited, so please book as soon as possible. This year, the host hotel for all teams will be Country Inn & Suites in West Seneca, NY.

We will have some courts set up and will be located in the picnic area behind Staybridge Suites Buffalo (right next door to the host hotel). Come out to get some practice in and meet some teams.

PDFA will go over rules and announce pools. Teams will then separate into pools.

Tournament begins! Teams will play every team in their pool.

Flash Fields has their own concession in the building on field’s edge, making it super convenient for players to get lunch.

All teams will play in at least one bracket “best-of” series. Single-Elimination until one team remains. Each division (AM and PRO) will have their own bracket.

Tournament Series
The 2023 PDFA Discflect World Championships is just one tournament that is part of the PDFA Discflect Tournament Series.
For each tournament, players are awarded points based on final placement. At the end of the season, the top discflect player(s) will be recognized. Worlds is considered a MAJOR, and will get higher points towards the season total, but those that play in multiple tournaments will have a better chance at ranking higher overall.
